Windows 2008 R2 Standard - Activation
Modified By hamada on 6/11/2010 1:47:23 PM

I installed Windows 2008 R2 Standard then activated it with the key that was supplied on the download page, then two days later, I reinstalled it again and could not get it to activate. I am getting an error ;message that the product key has reached its limit!! I am trying to activate it again ;from the same machine, same hardware, same computer name... still no luck!

Is there a way to get another key or deactivate then reactivate?

I am also having the same problem. i think it may have to do with the Volume Licence Key exceeding its max amount of computers ...

Re: Windows 2008 R2 Standard - Activation

why not use the 30-60 day Grace period, thats why its there. You can activate windows whenever you want to - there is no need to do it as soon as you install it. Also, if you are using VirtualBox, or VMware Workstation you could install it, activate and then Snapshot it so you can always revert/clone the Virtual Machine if you screw it up.

Cheers
