Expression Encoder on Dreamspark not fullversion?

I downloaded and installed Expression Studio 3 from Dreamspark.  Now in Expression Encoder whenever I try to change the output format to anything other WMV (VC-1 / WMA) -- for example MP4 (H.264/AAC) -- I get a popup saying:

> This functionality is only available in the full version of Expression Encoder: Purchase the product online.

Is the full version of Expression Encoder not included as part of Expression Studio?

Also, on an unrelated note, what happened to the Channel8 Dreamspark forums?

Re: Expression Encoder on Dreamspark not fullversion?
Usually not all the software are the really full versions (e.g.: Visual studio2008). I don't know the answer for the Expression Studio 3. As for channel8, they moved it to msstudentlounge.com. This way is a single place for students, not more.

Re: Expression Encoder on Dreamspark not fullversion?

I emailed Microsoft a while back about the issue, and this is what they said.

"We have received a message from our colleague informing us that due to licensing restrictions, Microsoft Expression Encoder is the full version of the product minus certain codecs such as H.264."

There is also a limitation on how long you can record your screen, it is 10 minutes. If your school has MSDNAA then they offer the full version on there with all the codecs and no limits either.
